[ There was no way for her to reply when the second message came through. By that point she was seated out in the living room and yet those words were like a punch in the gut that had left her winded. Pulling in a sharp, swift breath, a hand pressed to her stomach as she felt herself double in. Her communicator was dropped to her lap as her other hand covered her mouth to stifle the quiet sound of distress. This news would've been easier to digest were he here with her.
It took her a moment before she could properly type up a response, her mind going through the realisation that, once they were taken from this world, they would essentially go back to being...dead. This grief and sorrow behind this loss was nearly as sudden and overwhelming as watching in horror as the green beam of the Death Star had raced towards Alderaan, taking from her not only her people, but Breha and Bail.
Never would Leia have thought that Anakin Skywalker, the man who'd later become the core of her nightmares and the fuel to drive her hate for the Empire, that losing the man who fathered her and had shown her nothing but genuine love and kindness would fill her with such sadness and heartache. ]
[ Sure, Han and Leia had gone and come back, but... he hadn't. He was still from the same point, still stuck in this place. Part of him was worried that was because he had changed so much, had deviated so much from who he was supposed to be that he would never be able to go home. That was just as bad as going home and not remembering this place, and the thought terrified him. ]
If you feel caf is what we need right now, who am I to say no.
[ Here she begins to move around, getting ready. There isn't much to do as it's so late, but Leia leaves Han a note at his bedside before she leaves to make her way over to Luke's. ]
[ It wouldn't take her long. Seeing and sensing him there, outside and waiting, Leia went easily into the embrace. A kiss was pressed to his cheek right before her face ducked to bury to his shoulder. A small tremor passed through her shoulders and her arms tightened around him. There were no tears but there was a deep sadness her brother would feel that would no doubt add to his own feelings. ]
They could come back, [ muffled against him. ] Everyone comes back.
[ But it wasn't hard to hear the doubt in his muffled voice. He held her close, trying not to shake himself. He felt helpless, the same way he had after being recovered from Bespin, after he saw Ben cut down on the Death Star, and he just did not know what to do. After a moment, he gave her a squeeze, pulling away and motioning her inside. ]
[ She pulled away to step into the warmth of the house, a shiver passing down her back from the transition of moving out of the cold. More layers should've been worn other than a jacket. ]
Pls. This is Nothing to what you have planned

Are you alright?
idk what you're talking about <3
[ He doesn't even really need to think about it. It hurts, to think about what this means for them. ]
I can't stop thinking about what they're going back to.
Especially when they were so happy here.

Are you at home right now?

[ He didn't think Cass was home... and if Luke was honest with himself, even if he was, he was probably passed out cold. ]

[ He appreciated the fact that Cass knew who he was, knew exactly what he was, and still tried to hide things from him. It was endearing, in a way. ]
[ Once he felt Leia approaching the house, Luke went outside, waiting for her on the landing so he could pull her into a tight hug that much sooner. ]

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one out of us that hasn't gone back yet.

[ Her jacket comes off and it's draped over the back of a chair. She lowers herself into it, hands in her lap. ]
