[ "You don't know what anything means," is the response Luke wants to give, but he holds it back. ]

Essentially, I'm being punished.

[ Look Luke, he just doesn’t understand modern anything. Give him a break, he’s ancient. ]

Why are you being punished?

[faithfulson]

[ Well maybe if he explained that... ]

I kind of did something that nearly got me killed and everyone that mattered to me sensed it.

[livethecreed]

That would explain why you are being punished. I’ve noticed families do not enjoy seeing their loved ones in danger or injured.

[ He has no personal experience with that, but he’s seen mothers worrying over their children in the cities. ]

What does ‘grounding’ entail?

[faithfulson]

It's kind of frowned on, yeah.

I'm not allowed to use the Force for "anything stupid", and I need to stay with her for awhile.

What is 'the Force'?

[ Altair is really getting sick of not knowing things. ]

[faithfulson]

It's a power from my world.

It's an energy field that comes from all living things. Some sentients are able to tap into that power.

[livethecreed]

I do not believe we have anything like that in my world.

What can you do with it?

[faithfulson]

A lot of things.

Prophecy, telekinesis, telepathy; to name a few. I've made use of the Force to run faster and jump higher than I would normally, or blend into a crowd when I need to.

[livethecreed]

[ Altair doesn't know what telekinesis or telepathy are, so he notes the words down to look up later. ]

Interesting. And how can you use it for something 'stupid'?

[faithfulson]

I tried to force a vision. Doing that requires someone to be as close to the Force as possible.

[ A pause, almost like Luke just let out a sigh. ]

That means I had to put myself as close to dying as I could.

[livethecreed]

[ You can't see the look Altair's giving his phone, but if you could you'd know he thinks you're an idiot. ]

That seems extremely idiotic.

[ There's a pause for a moment or so before a second text comes in ]

Did you at learn what you needed from this vision?

[faithfulson]

It wasn't one of my better ideas, but we did learn more information about the location of an enemy we've been trying to find.

Sometimes one needs to take actions that others don't agree with to further their cause. Did they not agree with you that it was worthwhile?

[faithfulson]

The general consensus is that I was an idiot.

[livethecreed]

You did not ask their opinions before you took action?

[ If Luke knew Altair better, this would be hilarious ]

I didn't want to worry anyone.

So I ended up worrying everyone.

When is this 'grounding' done?

[faithfulson]

I'm not sure.

I think it's "until I stop being stupid".

So I'm not sure how long that will be.

[ It takes Altair a few minutes to respond to that one ]

I do not know how to deal with our roommates.

[ Wha...? Luke can't help but stare at the screen for a moment. ]

They're just teenagers. They're not that complicated.
