I'll admit I don't know much about the force or how it works, but whatever she felt had her breaking a bunch of windows and knocking the door off its hinges.
Events have happened that potentially threaten the integrity of this world. The introduction of items and creatures from our respective worlds is only the most recent incident of this.
I'm worried it may be making it easier for Atropos to destroy us. I was hoping finding her would help us find a way to defeat her and keep this place safe.
[ There's a long moment where the typing indicator keeps going, on and off, off and on, before Luke's next response came. ]
I thought I wanted to do all this because I didn't want to face the future back home. I didn't want to walk down the path that I know I'm destined to take.
But I don't think that's my main reason for protecting this world anymore.
[ Again, that typing indicator comes up and goes away a maddening amount, before it suddenly just disappears, like Luke changed his mind in replying. Really he was just laying there, staring up at the ceiling and fighting with himself. This wasn't very Jedi of him at all, at least not the way he was taught, and not at all like the old Order. ]
[ But was that really a bad thing? That question he still fought and struggled with, and he still didn't know the answer. Everything was a mess right now, but at least when it came to Bodhi, something felt right. ]
[ He was sure his father felt the same about his mother. ]
[ Finally, the answer burst up on Bodhi's screen: ]
I don't want to live in a world that doesn't have you in it.
He stops, mid step to stare down at his phone in his hands. Bodhi takes a deep, shuddering breath, and opens his mouth to reply. But no. He doesn't even have the excuse of being choked.
There's a lump in his throat, that the words are stuck behind. ]
Luke, I --
I want to stay here with you however long I can, as long as that might be, you know that? But...
[ He takes a few steps, not quite pacing while he speaks. ]
I don't want to lose you to trying to... save me, if that's what this is.
[ For a moment, Luke wanted to deny that he didn't do that for that reason, but... when he thought about it, it really seemed that way. Yes, staying here with Bodhi meant he would be safe from the future, but would he leave if Bodhi ever left...? ]
[ Yes. Yes he would. To run away back home so he wouldn't remember how much he loved him. ]
[ He needed another moment, running a hand over his face before he could even attempt replying. All he did was run away, hunh? He supposed there was at least one thing that Hux was right about when it came to him. ]
[ He knows somewhat, of what Luke is to face, when he returns home. Having heard it, a few months prior. To him, it might be as daunting as going back to dying is to Bodhi. He's happy, here. Found people he would've never met, has built up a life here, and he sometimes hates that it came at the expense of his death.
But he wouldn't trade it for anything... he's just afraid.
And he feels sorry that he'd yelled earlier. He just wants to find Luke and hold him for a while. ]
I think we should continue this in person. Where are you?
I would never say no to you. Might have to duck around my father. I think he's still pacing in the lobby. Also I really can't talk, so it's not like I can tell you not to yell at me.

What did you do, Luke?

I asked Darth Jadus to force a future vision to try and find Atropos.
It involves bringing a person closer to the Force.
[ ...sort of get it out there. ]

Did you find any -- wait.
Closer to the force. In what way.
[ please don't mean. what he thinks that means. ]

I don't know how to tell you this in a way that isn't going to freak you out. I'm sorry.
[ He almost said he got to experience what it was like to be an Imperial officer, but he knew that wasn't going to be received well. ]
In order to have this vision I had to be brought as close to death as possible.

Bodhi groans. buries his face in his hands. tries to expel the cool dread that had settled in his chest and promptly failed. why?
Oh Luke... what are you doing?
why are both of the people he's fallen in love with all about being self sacrificing martyrs?]You're right. There is absolutely no way that sentence wouldn't freak me out.
I'm trying to wrap my head around why you would think this is a good idea, I really am.

you don't need to do this on your own
we can't fight our future
He understands, though. And he can't even decry his reasoning because he's doing something.
But Luke's last reply gives him pause. ]
What reason is that?
